POLICE SEIZE GUN, MAKE ARREST IN FAIR HAVEN (10/6/2006) NEW HAVEN – Officers assigned to the Information-Directed Neighborhood Enforcement Team (ID-NET) working in the Fair Haven neighborhood arrested a man late Tuesday night and seized a weapon. Gerald Turner, 50, of Hamden, was confronted by Officers Carlos Ortiz and Dietrich Hernandez, who had received information that Turner was carrying a weapon. Officers seized a .45 caliber gun and two magazines and arrested Turner, who was charged with criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle under suspension.
